Abstract
This contribution provides the taxonomy, the known botanical affinity, and the stratigraphic distribution of 183 subspecies, species, and subgeneric groups of spores and pollen grains from the middle Eocene of the San Diego area, California. One hundred twenty-six of these taxa are new and are described here, but only 23 of them are formally named. Two genera are new, Bicingulispora and Sandiegopoillis. Three species of miscellaneous palynomorphs are also illustrated, at least two of which are algal cysts,
